Natural Hair Rocks salon does not make any guarantees about how long a clients hair will last. Clients who attend salon sessions on a regular basis hair will last and stay straight for up to 2 weeks. If you are removing braids or sew in weave or have not pressed your hair in several months, your hair may not last. You will not know how long your hair will last until you actually press it out. Here are a few tips to preserve the integrity of your curl pattern after a silk press.
1. Choose a licensed natural hair stylist that has experience servicing clients with natural hair.
2. Once your hair is pressed, Roll, pin curl or wrap your hair at night. Cover with a satin bonnet or silk scarf.
3. DO NOT use a flat iron on your hair on a daily basis. Heat damage occurs by applying to much heat to your hair. Going over the same section over and over with a hot comb or flat iron will damage the curl pattern.
4. Apply a heat protectant to your hair if you have to use heat to straighten your hair.
If you sweat and your roots puff up, use a blow dryer with the comb attachment to dry and straighten roots.
