Natural hair steam hydration therapy.

What does Steam Hydration Therapy for natural hair?!?

Steam Hydration has been around for many years. The steamer may be used as a deep conditioning treatments, color processing, opening the pores and much more. Many natural hair salon across the U.S. have added steam hydration to the list of services that they offer. A basic steam hydration treatment can run anywhere between $10.00 to $30.00. That may sound like a lot of money for a deep conditioning treatment but I assure you that it well worth the cost, if you are 100% natural or transitioning.

Let me explain exactly what steam hydration does for your natural tresses and why it is so important.

The steam opens the cuticle layer of your hair strand and allows the conditioner to penetrate deep into the hair shaft, which in return leaves your hair moisturized. Versus just putting conditioner on the hair and letting it sit on top of the hair shaft. The steam helps to open the cuticle layer thus allowing the conditioner to penetrate deep.

Once your hair is trained with the steam hydration ( normally takes 5 treatments to train the hair) you will notice that your style will last longer. By doing steam hydration, you are building up the moisture content level of your hair! Natural hair tends to lack moisture. So ladies or gents, if you natural tresses are colored, if you’re transitioning, wearing a braided style, 100% natural, textured. YOU NEED STEAM HYDRATION!

Another benefit of steam hydration is that if you are transitioning or natural and want to wear your hair in a straight style, once your hair is trained with the steam hydration, your hair style will stay straight LONGER. How, you may ask? Well, once your hair is trained and let’s say you do activities that cause you to sweat. If you hair is trained, when that sweat hits your hair strand it will not revert to its natural state as fast because moisture is already infused into the cuticle layer of your hair strands. Get it?  So try a steam hydration treatment at a professional natural salon.
